  When you purchase any thing for a funeral the business transaction and the merchandise items should be explained to the consumer and double counted the cost of the services and items purchased with a calculator . No calculator just the owners pen was going fast! Went into this funeral home with fixed amount of spending and given a $2.00 credit when all said and done Not explained much and not told the cement box volt will allow water to seap into the casket and in time the volt cement box will crumble. I have taken this funeral homes contracts to another towns funeral home not warren Hills funeral home with the same amount allowance and a $4,500 credit left over after the new funeral home caculated all our wishes and was able to up grade to better merchandise and services including a flower spread for the casket from the second estimated funeral home and not a single dime was added and an extra credit of $4,500 ! Total professional business! shocked and disgusted and heartbroken! Could of been a honest mistakes due to companies have different prices ?! I'm not sure? Only God and the owners DeVoe's know the truth with over pricing when it came to $$$$ Maybe not counted correctly? I am just sharing of my findings letting others know to be wise when doing business even if you are friends with the owners and etc. business and friendship do not mix for the reasons above because these pre funeral arrangement were paid for in this funeral home and no one likes to be taken advantage of if this was the case?! Only God and the DeVoe's know the truth and no monies was lost and if I stayed with them I for sure would of been ripped off and not of known about it and not had the proper burial from a non caring business owner. If it was his family and the friends he considers his true friends I'm sure he wouldn't bury them with a volt cement liner that crumbles and allows water to seap into the loved ones caskets he would suggest top dog and give them discounts which I never asked for any discounts. Mark DeVoe would double count the total if he didn't over charge on the write up on the contract to make sure he's not possibly double charging in something when making funeral arrangements for his family and best friends . During Our business transactions we heard nothing but gossip what the other funeral home down the street from the DeVoe's was saying and etc to the point left us leaving with disgust not double checking numbers and time to explain the merchandise. Too busy Gossiping! Picking out arrangements is a sensitive task to do which no one really likes to do and you would think a business owner would be professional?! I'm tired of the war between this funeral and the other funeral home the one down the street which totally distracts from business. It's Ridiculous!! Now have to worry about identity theft being the above business had employee theft and this employee had full range to personal information like social security numbers , birth dates , checking account numbers, address. Owners of the funeral home did get the monies back that was stolen from them back through insurance and that's all good but how about the customers identity information that the employee had full rang of? My family have to monitor our credit daily and wait to close out checking accounts. To hire employees and not do back round checks is beyond I can understand! Sloppy business dealings and thank the lord we left this funeral home and time will tell with possible identity theft. This funeral home just turned 102 years old and I'm sure all the past generations owners from this funeral home are turning over in the grave with disgust! Happy Celebration to your funeral home! No identity theft as of this date but time will tell and praying hard that this woman had no other ideas of theft! Disgusting at every level!! We as the customers are the victims! All you hear Poor DeVoe's from people !! Disgusting!!!! Poor us who have to monitor and worry about identity theft because of sloppy business owners!
